Labour Weekend May 2017

Including Coffs Harbour ISKA comp.

sunny 24 °C

Today was a zig zag 12 hour drive from Coffs Harbour to home! We had such a nice day and once again saw some lovely parts of our beautiful country.
We headed towards Glen Innes but saw a sign to 'hanging rock' so we took that.. which was a dirt road.... which led to a river bed ..which had a bridge ... which had rocks on the other side hahaha which is not made for my car! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ
We learned that 'hanging rock' is a property and not 'the place'. Following the road on we ended up on a road heading away from Glen Innes and ended up in Urbenville again lol.
Leaving Urbenville we headed to Warwick... was lovely drive and kids were amazing! Again!!

Easter long weekend 2017

Easter Sunday

sunny 27 °C

Happy Easter ๐Ÿฐ from the trippin' bunnies! The Easter bunny found the kids ok .. phew!
Had coffee and chocolate for breakfast haha, Amy disappeared and made friends with some local harness racing owners who work their horse here every morning.
Took the kids for a drive to the sparkly rock river we found last weekend... was good fun exploring and the dogs enjoyed their swim ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ
Scenery was so beautiful , can never get enough of the country.
Saw a horse on the side of a hill, he was a farm horse but clearly adventurous! Not sure his mum will be very happy when she sees him imitating a goat!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ there must be something tasty growing up there hehe
Explored a few roads... between Grantham and Clifton, found a broken down point of interest, unfortunately we couldn't get up to it cos the bottom of the stairs had been washed away.
Came back to camp to find all the ducks off the island sitting around our camp site lol no pic because I was not quick enough lol
Blair did some more carving and made a spear... then went over to the lake with bread and his spear ๐Ÿ˜ณhaha shut that down quick smart!
Amy rode Blairs bike all afternoon between taking the dogs around the Showgrounds to say hi to all her new friends.
In the way to the shower.. Amy says to me 'mum, I know all the people staying here, and all the old ones cos I run into them when I'm walking the dogs' Hahahaha
Then she proceeded to tell me the story of the people with the cat in the lead that she helped catch haha
Dinner was wonderful again!
After dinner we experimented with a bottle and a torch to make different lighting haha the kids loved it!
After showers, Amy had her dressing changed on her cut. It looks good but was a candidate for sutures or glue ๐Ÿ™ˆ
To top the day off.... Lady Gaga released a new single!!! It is awesome ๐Ÿ˜ƒBedtime!!
Don't really want to go home tomoz, have had a wonderful time!

Easter long weekend 2017

Easter Saturday

sunny 26 °C

Chill out day today!
Omg flies!!! ๐Ÿ™„
Up early, coffee and lucky enough to see a dressage club come to the Showgrounds for their competition. Amy met a new friend Olivia who is the same age and owns a beautiful welsh pony called Ash.
A bit of excitement as one of the big horses broke away from its float and did a lap of the show grounds! Rich was all over it with the ROK and followed it with a random rider that was coming into the Showgrounds. They caught him and brought him back to his float.
There are so many flies !!๐Ÿ™„
Blair and Rich did boy things haha, carving sticks and doing things to the car and camping stuff.
Amy only came home for lunch today she was very busy with her friend and riding Blairs bike and taking the dogs for a walk.
Blair loved counting the turtles in the water when they popped their heads up... highest number at once- seven! Haha
The flies love the outside of the caravan ๐Ÿ™„
I enjoyed watching the world go by today.... all my ducks in a row so to speak!! And quite literally!
I think Amy met all the neighbours today haha she spied one with a cat that looks like Charlie so off she went to meet and greet.
Had a wonderful meal for dinner ... all cooked in one hotplate.
Amy was helping with the carrots and cut her thumb knuckle ... borderline stitches ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Everyone is tired, comfortable and ready for bed... nighty night from us! ๐Ÿ˜ด
(Even the flies go to bed at night) haha

Sneaky on nighter

Driving weekend

Good evening!
It has been a couple of weeks since we had a trip of any sort.
Today was a driving day... we didn't know where we were heading so we went west!
We stopped at Atkinson dam .... it is pretty much empty even after all the rain we had.
Driving to Gatton was wonderful to everything so green after the rain.
Around Gatton we headed out west one dirt road after another! Seeing heaps of cattle and farms and all the creek crossing had been high with many having water still flowing over them.
The water is so clear in many of the creeks, and flowing! One creek we stopped at had rocks full of crystals! It was like fossicking and I could have searched and broken them open for hours! Kind of reminded me of the 'thunderbird eggs'
We must have done a bit of a loop because we ended up between Warwick and Toowoomba.
The decision was made to go to Toowoomba Showgrounds for the night! As usual, Peter the Showground manager was welcoming and let us take our pic of spots to layout the swag!
We can't wait to bring the kids and dogs here ๐Ÿ™‚
Dinner was awesome, in a little Japanese restaurant in Toowoomba City! โ›ฉ
A nice end to an awesome day!
Now to turn down the swag and get comfy โ›บ๏ธ
